CDA to beautify capital through anti-encroachment drive


ISLAMABAD: Capital Development Authority (CDA) chairman, Syed Tahir Shahbaz has said that encroachments damage the natural beauty and mar serenity of environment. To restore the natural beauty of Saidpur Village, encroachments would be removed, he said in a press release.

CDA chairman said that parking area would be extended, while sanitation system would be improved to avoid unhygienic conditions.

Syed Tahir Shahbaz said that rich cultural and traditional heritage is the real identity of Saidpur Village and foreign as well as local visitors have been showing deep interest in the cultural activities initiated by the CDA in Saidpur Village.

“These encroachments are becoming a nuisance and a hurdle in the way of local and foreign visitors,” he said.

Shahbaz directed the concerned formations of the authority to remove these encroachments at a faster pace, especially those in front of hotels and restaurants.

He also directed Sanitation Directorate of CDA to work out a comprehensive plan for improving the sanitation conditions, to prevent any incident erupting out of unhygienic condition in Saidpur.

CDA chairman said that the authority is taking all out measures to promote entertainment, amusement and cultural activities for the people of all ages to build soft image of the country at national as well as international level, adding that Saidpur Village reflects cultural heritage, which would be preserved to attract more visitors with the passage of time. app
