IHC seeks record of encroachment from CDA

ISLAMABAD: The Islamabad High Court on Monday sought detailed record of encroachment in capital form the Capital Development Authority by Wednesday.
A single member bench of IHC comprising Justice Shaukat Aziz Siddiqui resumed hearing of plea filed by Jahangir Khan Jadoon against CDA.
During the course of hearing, petitioner Jahangir Jadoon, apprised the bench that CDA is not taking action against encroachers and the number of encroachers is on the rise.
Justice Siddiqui directed the CDA management to submit comprehensive record of encroachers by the next date of hearing.
In an earlier hearing, the court had directed the Chairman Capital Development Authority (CDA), Syed Tahir Shahbaz, to conduct a through inquiry into the issue of land encroachment by Bahria Dastar Khwan and apprise it about the delinquent officers in this regard.
He was ordered to depute a responsible officer for holding an inquiry against officials who had failed to perform their duties and caused loss to the civic body.
