CDA directs contractors to speed-up work on Kashmir Highway


ISLAMABAD: The Capital Development Authority (CDA) has directed the contractors of Kashmir Highway project to speed up the construction work.
CDA spokesperson said that expansion work of Kashmir highway would be completed by December this year. He said the Kashmir Highway would be widened to five-lanes from the existing two lanes on both sides. The project was estimated to cost Rs 4.8 billion and the expansion work was started in February 2012, he maintained. Construction work on the new Islamabad airport would be completed by next year and the growing traffic on Peshawar and Islamabad Motorway would be diverted to the Kashmir Highway, he added.
