Islamabad : The contractor has once again asked the Federal Government Employees Housing Foundation (FGEHF) to provide protection to its engineers and workers so that it could start development work in the stalled Sector G-14.

In this connection, a letter has been written to the FGEHF by the project director of Sector G-14 after about a dozen affected people, with sticks and stones in their hands, forced the National Constructions Limited to stop its machinery. The affected people also dragged the operator of the excavator from his seat and thrashed him. They also smashed windscreen of the excavator.

The National Constructions Limited, the contractor of sectors G-14/2 and G-14/3, had time and again requested the FGEHF for protection but to no avail that resulted in further delay in full-fledged start of development activity.

On the other hand, the Islamabad administration and the FGEHF are reluctant to stop new construction activity in sectors G-14/2 and G-14/3 where construction of more houses and a boundary wall of a building is in progress despite ban.

The allottees of the sector, who are government employees (almost all of them have now retired) and journalists, and were allotted plots in 2004, have once again appealed to the Supreme Court of Pakistan to take notice of the indifferent attitude of the housing foundation and Islamabad administration towards the affairs of the sector.
