Full Version: CDA decides to develop infrastructure in three sectors

ISLAMABAD: The new management of the Capital Development Authority (CDA) has decided to undertake infrastructure development works in three sectors of the capital and funds for these works are to be generated by auctioning off commercial plots in March.

According to reports, the decision was taken in a CDA Board meeting, which was presided over by CDA Chairman Syed Tahir Shahbaz.

It was decided that funds generated through the sale of commercial plots in the respective sector would be spend on development work in the same sector, to ensure uninterrupted progress of the development work.

Reportedly, responsibility of the infrastructure development work in sectors I12, E12 and I15 has been given to CDA Engineering Member Sanaullah Aman and CDA Estate Management Member Shaista Shohail.

Shaista Shohail said, “Negotiation with people who would be affected due to the development work in Sector E12 is underway and righteous demands made by these people would be respected by the CDA.”

She also said that in the first phase, a service road in Sector E12 would be constructed. She added that the East Service Road in Sector D12 would be completed and the two service roads would be linked to the Kashmir Highway.

The CDA estate management member also said that construction work on the service road in Sector I12 would be started soon and commercial plots in the sector’s markaz would be auctioned in the next month.

“In sector I12, people affected due to the development work would be given residential plots.

However, in Sector E12, they would be awarded developed plots,” she added.

Sanaullah Aman said that infrastructure development work in Sector I15 would be started soon and tenders for this purpose would be invited from local construction firms. inp
