RAWALPINDI - The Capital Development Authority (CDA) has launched an operation against the illegal slums (katchi abadis) and encroachments in Sector I-11. Islamabad Police have also been requested to assist the civic authority in the operation. Officials of the civic body said that the operation would continue for one week and large contingent of police will be accompanying the CDA officials in it.
It is pertinent to mention here that majority of the land grabbers in the sector are Afganis. According reports of security agencies, many outlaws belong to the slum areas, making it a security risk for the residents of the capital city
