LAHORE – Lahore Development Authority on Wednesday warned that the practice of using names of different government, semi- government and other departments by private housing schemes, majorly in advertisements, was illegal and was misleading people.

LDA has cautioned that P&D Fort, Planning and Development Employees Cooperative Housing society Phase-II was neither approved by LDA nor any application had been filed or submitted in LDA for seeking its approval. Planning and Development Department, Government of the Punjab, has also expressed its indifference with this scheme. Therefore, its sponsors were using the name of this department without any legal justification.

LDA informs all the intended buyers of plots in private housing schemes to buy plots only in the approved housing schemes as approval is granted after scrutiny of ownership documents, provision of public utility sites as per planning standards and other technical issues.

LDA further advises not to purchase plots in the illegal or unapproved housing schemes. They should verify the plots of even the approved housing schemes from the authorities concerned. Details of all approved layout plans of private housing schemes had been made available on LDA Web site (http://www.lda.gop.pk).
