LAHORE - Lahore Development Authority on Tuesday warned developers of all private housing schemes to abide by the approved designs and relevant rules otherwise their mortgaged plots would be confiscated and auctioned.

The developers have been directed to legalise the designs for construction of infrastructure including roads, water supply, sewerage, electricity, sui-gas and horticulture from the department concerned within six months of the initial approval of the scheme. They have further been desired to execute development works strictly as per the approved designs and that too with the approval of the concerned department. The developers are also required to inform the relevant department in black and white before initiating certain development work(s) so that affective monitoring of such work(s) could be ensured by the concerned department.

LDA has warned that in case of failure of a scheme in execution of development works within five years or substandard development, LDA will auction the mortgaged plots for completing the development works in the schemes and additional cost will be recovered from the developers.

Transfers and postings: LDA DG Ahad Khan Cheema on Tuesday reinstated into service Habibur Rehman, Principal, LDA, and posted him as Deputy Director in Directorate of Estate Management (LDA Avenue-I). However, this order will not affect the outcome of enquiry proceedings pending against him.

Meanwhile on the orders of Additional Director General (HQ) LDA Marriam Kayani, Javaid Aslam, Database Administrator presently working as Deputy Director (Computer) in Finance Directorate, LDA has been transferred and posted in Directorate of Law, LDA with immediate effect. Meanwhile, Lahore Development Authority has given a final chance to Mujahid Hamoodur Rasool, Assistant Director (Engineering) LDA to appear before the Competent Authority/ Additional Director General (HQ), LDA within seven days.

The officer had been served show cause notice on the allegations of non- compliance with transfer order. He had been repeatedly asked to join the duty but he did not comply. He had been directed to appear before the competent authority along with written defence, otherwise an ex- parte decision shall be taken against him.

Marriage hall sealed: Staff of the Town Planning Wing of LDA sealed a marriage hall in Garden Town on Tuesday. It was spread over two Kanals Plot No. 3 Garden block New Garden Town. The marriage hall had been constructed without the approval of the building plan by the LDA.
