LAHORE : THE Lahore Development Authority (LDA) has decided to terminate the annual commercialisation process on 48 declared roads under its control after December 31, 2012.These properties could, however, be got permanently commercialised after the payment of the requisite fee for this purpose.

Notices are being served on the owners of these properties for getting their properties permanently commercialised.It is to be mentioned that the commercial activity had been allowed on 48 roads situated in LDA schemes, under Land Use Rules 2009.

The LDA has also decided not to extend the permission for the annual/temporary commercialisation on roads other than 48 declared roads after December 13, 2013.

All sorts of commercial activity will be banned on such roads after the said date.Meanwhile, the LDA has granted one week’s relaxation for depositing the commercialisation fee by showrooms that have been illegally set up and are functioning on Main Road Samanabad and Gulshan-e-Ravi.

During this period, the LDA staff will measure the area of these properties which is being used for commercial activities and receive pay orders for the annual commercialisation after the expiry of this period.
