ISLAMABAD: The Prime Minister’s Secretariat has directed the Capital Development Authority (CDA) to guide it about rules and regulations under which a commercial plot adjacent to the Marriott Hotel could be sold or leased out. The directive was issued after the hotel owner requested the prime minister to sell him the open plot, as it could precipitate the terrorists into hitting the hotel again, a senior official of the CDA told Daily Times on Monday. The official said that according to the Land Disposal Regulation (LDR) 2005 the commercial and business plots should be sold or leased out through an open auction. He said the authority would soon inform the secretariat about its rules and regulations in this regard. The sale of a commercial plot without an open auction is a complete violation of LDR 2005 due to which the authority has not so far sold the plot to Marriott Hotel, he added. He said the CDA had a number of vacant commercial plots in various parts of the city and it planed to auction them off to generate revenue. fazal sher
