The Capital Development Authority (CDA) has decided to start selling commercial and residential plots through open auctioning next month to generate money.The decision to this effect was taken in the CDA Board meeting held here on Tuesday.

The participants of the meeting decided that the open-auctioning process of high-rise commercial plots in Blue Area and plots for marriage halls, petrol pumps at different locations and 22 plant nursery plots would be held in a transparent manner.

The meeting, chaired by CDA Chairman Syed Tahir Shahbaz and attended by all board members, decided to evolve a strategy to stop non-conforming use of agricultural plots. It also took notice of illegal bus stands, kiosks and other encroachments at Faizabad.

The CDA Board noted that the activities of housing societies should be monitored strictly and they should be bound to follow the approved layout plans.

The participants of the meeting directed the CDA Administration Wing to finalise the new Human Resource Section for recruitment, upgradation and re-designation of posts.

Meanwhile, the CDA has initiated measures for a change in working culture and started awarding appreciation certificates to officers and employees declaring them ‘Rising Stars’ of the CDA.

CDA Chairman Syed Tahir Shahbaz awarded certificates to officers and officials on the basis of their good performances in computerisation of the Land and Estate Management record.

During the certificate distribution ceremony held at the CDA headquarters on Tuesday, the CDA chairman said that it is time to change the entire working culture at the CDA. He said that hardworking workers and officers of the CDA would be appreciated and given certificates for outstanding performance to help inculcate a positive attitude and people-friendly approach for resolving issues promptly.

CDA Member Estate Shaista Sohail apprised the CDA chairman that the computerisation of land record, including commercial, residential and agricultural farming plots, has been initiated. She stated that progress report would be submitted to the CDA chairman on daily basis. She further apprised that the purpose of computerisation of record is to make the process of all documentation of land-related issues more transparent, convenient and time saving. This would help reduce the chances of tampering with the record and transparency would be ensured, she said.

The CDA, besides its own employees, has also sought the services of students from different universities in the process of computerisation of land record.

Syed Tahir Shahbaz lauded the performance of the member estate and directed her to expedite the process of computerisation. He said that he would not tolerate corruption in the CDA and would appreciate those employees who work with zeal and devotion.
