Encroachments on 6th Road service lanes irk commuters
ISLAMABAD: The construction of a flyover on the 6th Road has redoubled the need to clear service lanes, which have been blocked by leading educational institutes, causing massive traffic problems. Anti-encroachment department of Tehsil Municipal Administration (TMA) and City Traffic Police have not yet taken any action against the schools. The service lanes were constructed to facilitate parents to pick and drop their children studying in these institutions. One of the leading groups of colleges has turned the service lane into a parking lot for motorbikes of students and employees, leaving no space on the footpath for the passers-by.
Security guards of schools do not allow commuters to use the service lane even if they are going to drop their children studying in adjacent institutions. app
