ISLAMABAD: The Central Development Working Party (CDWP) on Thursday approved projects worth Rs 18.7 billion.

The committee met here with Planning Commission Deputy Chairman Dr Nadeem-ul-Haq in the chair. Spokesman of the Planning Commission Ishfaqullah Khan said that the CDWP considered the Rehabilitation of Lower Chenab Canal project costing Rs 12.7 billion to be sponsored by the government of Punjab and referred it to the Executive Committee of National Economic Council for final approval.

Similarly, he said that the CDWP approved two infrastructure projects of road dualisation from Mandra to Chackwal costing Rs 2.7 billion. Another project of Sohawa-Chackwal road dualisation at the cost of Rs 3.3 billion was also approved in principle by the CDWP but subject to its rationalisation.
