lyovers construction will start this week: Syed
KARACHI: Administrator Karachi Metropolitan Corpora-tion (KMC) Muhammad Hussain Syed has said that the construction work of flyovers on Shahrah-e-Pakistan and SM Taufeeq Road will be started this week and completed within the estimated time of six months. He said this during an inspection visit to the construction place of four flyovers at Shahrah-e-Pakistan on Sunday.
He said that planning for construction of four flyovers on Shahrah-e-Pakistan was already made and offices of relevant contractors had been set up whereas traffic diversion plan was also made final. He said that construction work of four flyovers would be started at the same time with least effect on traffic and no inconvenience for people whereas service road will be widened after removing encroachments.
The administrator was informed by Project director Syed Muhammad Taha that construction of flyover at water pump would cost Rs 383.37m and flyover at Aisha Manzil would cost Rs 378.20m and the length of flyover at water pump would be 140-meter-long with 3 lanes for each side of traffic which would consist of 11.80 meter-width whereas the length of flyover at Aisha Manzil would be 590 meter-long for both sides.
