CDA official directed for early completion of Bari Imam complex


ISLAMABAD: Islamabad Chief Commissioner Tariq Mahmood Pirzada has directed the CDA project director and contractor to speed up the pace of work on the shrine of Hazrat Barri Imam Development Complex and ensure the quality of work.
The chief commissioner conducted a thorough visit of the shrine and reviewed the progress of the ongoing work.
He issued necessary directions to the officials concerned to further speed up the pace of work and quality of work. The project director and contractor gave him a detailed briefing about the progress of work at the site.
They said that 75 percent of the construction work on the first phase of the project had been completed, including the construction of main structure of the shrine, arcade, courtyard and eight small domes.
The project director told the chief commissioner that funds to the tune of Rs 315 million were available at present. The approved revised cost of the project is Rs 641 million. So far, expenditure of Rs 190.50 million has been incurred on the project and a balance of Rs 124.431 million is available, he said.
The officials informed the chief commissioner that the height of main minaret was 152 feet while 102 feet of it had been constructed. Besides, 70 percent fresco work has been completed.
Marble flooring is also in progress at the site, electrical cables are also being laid, finishing material, including glass mosaic tiles, alloy grills, marbles for flooring, have been procured and stocked at the site while alloy aluminum grilling work is also in progress and would be completed by the end of this month.
Painting and calligraphy work is also to be undertaken very soon, the project director said, adding that the first phase would be completed by October 31, positively
