Anti-encroachment drive on national highway begins

On the directions of DIG, National Highways and Motorway Police (NH&MP) N-5 Central zone Rai Altaf Hussain, have started a special anti-encroachment campaign to remove temporary and permanent encroachments on national highway from Lahore to Rahim Yar Khan in collaboration with National Highway Authority and local police.

DIG Rai Altaf instructed the officers of N-5 Central Zone on the removal of encroachments on National highway. These encroachments, by the local people become hurdle in the free flow of traffic and also cause of many accidents. Under the supervision of SSP Central-I Mirza Faran Baig a special team has been made.

The team headed by CPO/DSP Khalil Ahmed removed more than 70 permanent encroachments on N-5 Central from Thokar Niaz Baig to Manga Mandi, which become hurdle directly or indirectly in the free flow of traffic on National Highway. During campaign many stumbling stalls, hamper, commercial boards and ovens of "Chappar Hotels" have been removed from highway, which illegally installed at chong, sundar, shamkey Bhattian and Manga Mandi areas.
