Overhead bridge awaits fixing
RAWALPINDI: Snail paced work on the fixing of iron-made overhead bridge located near Shamsabad on Murree Road has become troublesome for pedestrians. Rawalpindi Development Authority (RDA) has failed to complete the installation of overhead bridge despite passage of the two months while officials had claimed its completion in a month.
It merits mentioning here that ready-made iron bridge was removed from Murree Road in front of Benazir Hospital after the construction of Chandni Chowk Flyover and refitted it near Shamsabad at the cost of Rs2.5 million. Traders talking to INP said that unnecessary delay in the installation of the ready-made overhead bridge was beyond comprehension.
They have demanded that the RDA ensure early fitting of the bridge in order to provide pedestrians a safe passage to cross the busy Murree Road.
