CDA chief orders uplift schemes’ timely completion
ISLAMABAD - Capital Development Authority (CDA) Chairman Engineer Farkhand Iqbal has directed the authorities concerned to ensure timely completion of the ongoing development projects in the federal capital.
He said this on Tuesday while reviewing the progress of the ongoing development work. On this occasion Member Engineering Syed Ibrar Hussain Shah, Planning and Design Member A Aziz Qureshi, Director General Planning Ghulam Sarwar Sindhu and officers of the formations concerned were also present.
The CDA chairman said that development work, including extension of heliport and security wall around the heliport and construction of overhead water tank, is of important nature, which would be completed well in time with quality.
He directed the formation concerned of the authority to accelerate the pace of work inline with international standards and ensure the availability of all facilities in the heliport.
The chairman CDA said that the authority would utilize its all resources not only to complete the development projects but also initiate more projects beneficial to the public. Later, he took an aerial view of the ongoing development projects in Islamabad.
USC set to launch Ramadan relief package from 15th
The Utility Stores Corporation (USC) has finalised its arrangements to launch much-needed Ramadan relief package from the coming Sunday to provide relief to price-stricken masses.
Under the Ramadan relief package, the USC will reduce the prices of 16 daily essential items up to Rs.15 per kg for which the Economic Coordination Committee (ECC) of the cabinet had already approved the package worth Rs.2.5 billion subsidy.
Out of 16 essential items, Rs.15 per kg reduction has been approved in the prices of Ghee/oil whereas the prices of rice, pulses, small gram, white gram, dates, ‘chakki basin’ Sella rice and broken rice would be reduced by Rs.10. Rs 10 percent reduction would take place in the prices of spices and beverages and Rs.6 per kg in the price of floor.
