New societies told to put up LPG plants
LAHORE: Sui Northern Gas Pipelines Limited (SNGPL) Managing Director Arif Hameed has advised new housing societies to put up LPG plants, adding that they could not supply gas to new industrial units and residential societies. The MD was speaking at the Lahore Chamber of Commerce and Industry on Monday, where he warned consumers of the worst gas crisis in the winter. He advised the administrators of housing societies, who had applied for gas connections, to use an alternative fuel and install LPG plants instated of waiting for gas connections. It is noteworthy that the government had put a ban on installation of new gas connection on the orders of the Supreme Court. staff report
