LDA to spend Rs64m on Raiwind Road

LAHORE, June 8: The Lahore Development Authority (LDA) approved on Friday the revised estimate for the improvement and widening of Raiwind Road’s Bhupatian Chowk worth Rs63.9 million.

The opposition often raises lavish spending on Raiwind Road which houses the residences of the Sharif brothers.

It was decided in a meeting of the LDA governing body meeting, presided over by District Coordination Officer and LDA Chairman Noorul Amin Mengal, says a press release.

The project includes the widening of the Bhupatian crossing, provision of lane marking, installation of road safety devices and traffic signals, shifting of services and acquisition of land measuring more than four kanals.

The body also delegated powers to the LDA director general for appointing legal firms.

SUSPENSION: LDA Director General Ahad Khan Cheema suspended from service on Friday Khurram Shahzad, computer operator, for his alleged involvement in the fake transfer of plot numbers 181 and 196 of Block-F/I, Johar Town.
