LDA seals record of 2,700 plots of Mustafa Town for scrutiny

LAHORE: The Lahore Development Authority (LDA) on Tuesday sealed a record of land and ownership of more than 2,700 plots located in the Mustafa Town Housing Scheme situated on Wahdat Road.

The authority has taken action on the directives of LDA Director General (DG) Ahad Khan Cheema. The LDA DG had ordered to seal and close the record of all the property located in the Mustafa Town for scrutiny after receiving complaints.

The LDA officials, in a press release confirmed the action and said that they had taken the action against the scheme after receiving public complaints and media reports regarding rampant fraud and bogus exemptions and allotments. Officials said that the LDA DG had taken serious notice of the complaints against the scheme and issued orders to seal the record for carrying out its inspection to safe the properties and assets of people affiliated with the public housing schemes.

After issuing order from the head of the authority, Additional Director General (Headquarter) Mariam Kayani has taken the record of the plots of Mustafa Town into her custody from the record room of LDA office located at Johar Town.

While, a three member committee, convened by Director Administration LDA Khalid Pervaiz and comprising of Director Estate Management Muhammad Numan Khan and Director Land Development Muazzam Rasheed, made inventory of files at this occasion.
