City to get 15 model parks: CM
LAHORE - Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif has said as many as 15 model parks will be developed in the city. He said that the roads of Lahore are being widened and beautified in an organised manner while, the idea of model roads decorated with flowers and natural beauty has also been introduced. He said that important chowks, overhead bridges and underpasses have been made eye-catching through flowers and decorative plants.
He was addressing a meeting held regarding beautification of Lahore roads here Wednesday. He said that 15 important roads of the provincial metropolis are being developed as model roads. He said that besides green belts, these roads are being made more attractive. He said that 15 model parks would also be developed in Lahore and addition to flowers and plants of different varieties, jogging tracks and other facilities will also be available in these parks. He said that the natural beauty of 37 kilometre long Lahore Branch Canal situated in the heart of Lahore would be enhanced through modern horticulture so that people passing from here could enjoy the view.
Shahbaz Sharif said that special attention is also being paid to developing green belts along the roads. Similarly, horticulture spots of attractive design have be developed on the busy roads, he added. He expressed the hope that Lahore which is a famous cultural city of South Asia, will be made unique with regard to natural beauty. He said that due to these projects of horticulture, the people visiting Lahore will fully enjoy its scenic beauty.
