600 NAECHS members to get plots in first phase

ISLAMABAD - Islamabad Deputy Commissioner Amer Ahmad Ali informed the National Assembly House and library committee on Tuesday that CDA had approved the layout plan of the National Assembly Employees Cooperative Housing Society (NAECHS).
He said 407 kanal land was in the possession of NAECHS, adding that according to the layout plan, more than 600 members of the society can be allotted the plots in the first phase and the remaining members will be accommodated in subsequent phase.
The committee met here under the chairpersonship of National Assembly Deputy Speaker Faisal Karim Kundi in the Parliament House. While apprising the present status of implementation of recommendations of Special Committee NAECHS and layout plan of NAECHS, the deputy commissioner informed the committee that more than 600 members of the society could be allotted the plots in the first phase and the remaining members will be accommodated in subsequent phase as the CDA has approved its layout plan.
The Attorney of the National Assembly Secretariat on NAECHS apprised the committee that next hearing of the six cases filed by three employees of the National Assembly Secretariat and three employees of ICT against the implementation of the report of the Standing Committee on House & Library is likely to be held on first and second week of May. He further informed that all six cases had been consolidated and would be heard by the same Judge of Islamabad High Court. He said delay in getting the stay orders vacated mainly owe to the late submission of the comments of the respondents in the case - ICT and FIA. The committee directed the attorney to actively pursue the case and get the stay orders vacated so that the unanimous recommendations of the House could be implemented. The committee was of the view that no one would be allowed to misappropriate the hard earned money of the employees of the National Assembly Secretariat. The committee also discussed the theft cases in the Parliament House and to avoid such cases in the future directed the CDA to prepare an estimate for installation of CCTV Cameras in the lobbies of the Parliament Lodges. The members who attended the meeting included Minister of State Sheikh Waqas Akram, MNAs Noor Alam Khan and Anjum Aqeel Khan.
