Second phase of Lyari’s development kicks off
KARACHI - Work for the second phase of Lyari Development Package (LDP) including water supply schemes and improvement of roads, streets, parks and playgrounds was started on Monday. According to an official news release, preparation of the Lyari Master Plan was to make the locality into a model area. After the completion of development works under the first phase, tenders for improvement of 30 different roads of Lyari have been invited while improvement of 12 boxing rings to promote the game in the area has also been started under the LDP second phase. Special attention is being given to improve the educational environment in the area through repair and renovation of school buildings. Better teachers and furniture is being provided to the schools where required. Vocational training centres have been opened to provide skills in different trades to the youth of the area. The LDP will bring a visible change in the lives of the Lyari people after its complete implementation, the statement added.
