Bridges over important highways demanded

ISLAMABAD: Lack of overhead bridges over important avenues and highways of the federal capital are causing many problems to citizens, particularly pedestrians and the elderly. No overhead bridge has been built over Faisal Avenue, Zero Point Interchange, 9th road 7th avenues, IJ Principal Road, Islamabad Highway or the Kashmir Highway. Ghulam Abbas, a government employee from G-8, said majority of government employees lives in the G-8 sector and have to face many difficulties in crossing the road to reach their offices due to lack of an overhead bridge. He said the avenue has 4 to 5 lanes and is very difficult to cross on foot. A group of labourers said that they have to cross the 9th Avenue to reach Peshawar Morr, and have to wait for hours to cross the roads so many roads.
