Section 144 imposed in H-16 to check construction, encroachment

ISLAMABAD: Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) administration, under Section 144 of the Code of Criminal Procedure, 1898, has prohibited construction, encroachment and demarcation in certain Khasras of Mouza Bhadhana Kalan and Mouza Noon in Sector H-16, on Sunday.

According to details, Islamabad Sub-Divisional Magistrate (Saddar), Omar Asad, in exercise of the powers conferred upon him under Section 144, has prohibited any person from encroaching upon, occupying, demarcating or entering with intention to encroach upon or occupy any portion of Khasra numbers 576, 606, 648, 659, 615, 676, 677, 679, 681, 687, 688, 690, 691, 692, 694, 699, 700 to 722, 725, 727, 729, 730, 732 to 739, 750 to 755, 820, 821, 823 to 832, 840 and 841 situated in Mouza Bhadhana Kalan, Sector H-16 and Khasra numbers 1270 to 1276, 1304 to 1319, 1414 and 1415 of Mouza Noon, Sector H-16.

Further, those persons who are listed as owners, tenants or occupants in the revenue record are also prohibited from engaging in construction in the above-mentioned Khasra.

However, these restrictions would not apply to officials of any government department in pursuit of their lawful duties, says a press release issued by the ICT administration on Sunday.

The press release stated that it has come to the knowledge of the Sub-Divisional Magistrate (Saddar) that some persons may attempt to occupy and encroach upon land acquired by the Capital Development Authority (CDA) in the above-mentioned Khasra numbers and immediate prevention is desirable
