Dilapidated Swan Road awaits repairs

ISLAMABAD: Despite repeated requests by the residents of Model Town (Humak) for repair of the dilapidated road from Swan to Kak Bridge, the authorities concerned are taking no action, completely ignoring the difficulties being faced by the people of the area. Residents of the neighbourhood, a rural area of the federal capital, fear the broken road may cause a fatal accident any time as vehicles moving on the road are forced to take zigzag paths in order to avoid rough patches and potholes. They said they had time and again appealed to Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif, the National Highway Authority (NHA) chairman, and MNA Dr Fazal Chaudhry for an immediate repair of Kahuta Road in Swan-Kak Bridge area to end their four-year ordeal. “The commuters have to suffer a lot while travelling on the road and remain in a constant fear of some fatal accident due to the terrible condition of the road,” the residents said.
