Islamabad—The fruit mandi of the federal capital lacks basic facilities even after completion of its silver jubilee.

Fruit Mandi Traders welfare Association president Agha Siraj talking to INP said that government has failed to ensure proper system to control transport and provide security to the traders adding that incomplete boundary wall of the fruit market could anytime lead to untoward incident.

Agha Siraj said that in order to provide fruits to citizens the fruit mandi need to be widened because the population has increased incredibly in the federal capital. He said that silver jubilee of fruit mandi has completed but it still lacks basic facilities including drinking water plants and incomplete boundary wall.

Moreover, single vehicle should not be charged entry fee twice. He demanded action against highhandedness of police personnel deployed at the fruit market and installation of water filtration plant.
