Islamabad—Chairman Capital Development Authority (CDA), Engineer Farkhand Iqbal said on Monday that the Park Enclave development work would be completed within 18 months time.

He said that whole amount of the land acquisition and compensation for the built-up-property has been paid and nothing is pending with the CDA regarding Park Enclave.

Talking to the media men after inaugural ceremony Chairman CDA said that the whole area of the Park Enclave has already been demarcated and work for development of the scheme would be awarded in a week time. He said that CDA administration organized an event to inaugurate the development work; however, some people tried to halt the development process unlawfully and voiced slogans.

Chairman CDA said that no one in these people belong to the area of the Park Enclave housing scheme rather they were from the Kuri Village and other adjacent areas. He said that the law and order situation should have to be taken care by the Police and local administration as the area magistrate was assigned the task.

Engineer Farkhand Iqbal said the immediate steps would be taken to resolve the genuine issues of the people in the development of the stalled sectors. He said Park Enclave is a unique housing project and the whole project land was under CDA’s possession and the issues raised by the locals mainly pertained to Kuri Village and other areas. He assured the residents that they would be taken on-board on all developments in this regard.

The chairman CDA apprised the journalists that Park Enclave is eco-friendly housing scheme of the Authority that is the first of its kind gated community in the vicinity.

He said all the area where the Park Enclave has been envisaged is under the CDA’s possession and development work on the scheme would not be halted.

The chairman said he had already directed Member Estate to resolve the issues of the built up property in the areas of Park Enclave Phase-II which the CDA was contemplating to launch with a view to provide housing facility to low-income class.

Apprising about the development process of Park Enclave, the CDA chairman said the development work on project would be completed within 18 months.

He said the Park Enclave would have underground utilities, water treatment plant, rainwater harvesting mechanism, open air restaurants, club house and controlled access at main gate. On the occasion Chairman Prime Minister Task Force Faisal Sakhi Butt said the stalled sectors and compensation to the affected people are serious issues requiring immediate attention, directing the CDA to resolve the chronic issues at the earliest. He said that such issues have multidimensional implications not only on the development of Islamabad but also for the CDA in wake of increasing competition among real estate developers.

He said housing backlog is constantly swelling with each passing day owing to delay in development of sectors as the issue has never been put at priority during the successive regimes.
