CDA plans to sell seven precious plots without auction,
ISLAMABAD: A new plan to sell seven CDA commercial plots worth billions of rupees at throwaway prices without an open auction but through pre-qualification notices has been unearthed. These commercial plots are located in the most precious sectors of the CDA.
Director Estate Management CDA Waqar Ali Khan has invited applications for pre-qualification of these plots till January 20. Sources said that 23 firms had shown interest to purchase the land and had applied to CDA for this purpose.
However because of political pressure a plan was being made to keep some firms away from the competition and in this regard a sub-committee was set up to scrutinise the firms and select only favored firms for the run.
On the other hand the Islamabad High Court wanted to keep the practice clean and recently directed the CDA administration to hold an open auction in the case of selling plots fixed for petrol bumps in different sectors.
According to sources the commercial plots being put on sale include those in F-10-Markaz, Melody Market, Diplomatic enclave, Blue Area F-6, G-6 and Blue Area F-8.
