Islamabad Highway lacks road lights

Islamabad—The busiest route of Islamabad Highway from Koral Chowk to Rawat has been deprived of road lights since five years when the Capital Development Authority (CDA) removed the same for up-gradation of the highway but till now CDA has not erected the poles for lights on the route.

According to details, CDA had removed the lights and poles five years earlier when construction and up gradation of Islamabad Highway was being done but new poles for lights were not installed on the busiest highway where road accidents were reported regularly.

Commuters said on both sides of Islamabad Highway lies Korang Town PWD Scheme, Media Town, Ghauri Town and several other housing schemes but the highway remains in darkness during night time. All kinds of traffic including heavy and light use the route but CDA has failed to install road lights on the said route so far. They demanded CDA to install road lights immediately in order to decrease accidents on the route.
