ISLAMABAD: A board of the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) on Wednesday discussed the the Parliamentarian Enclave

Housing Scheme scandal in the city for payment to the affectees by former senator Ayaz Khan Mandokhail.

The board meeting was headed by NAB Chairman Adm ® Fasih Bokhari.

A press release stated that earlier a refund of Rs 55 million to the affectees has already been made to the afectees.

Four years ago the accused senator had backed out from his commitment but has now committed to the accountability court that if his assets are released, he would make the required payments to the affectees.

It was decided that NAB would proceed as per law to ensure payment to the housing scheme victims.

The meeting also approved the plea bargain of Seth Nisar in the Bank of Punjab case for Rs 1.03 billion, out of which NAB has already recovered Rs 451 million.

The plea bargain request of Haji Sharifullah, a contractor from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa for the construction of sub-standard roads was also approved.

The court also approved voluntary return of money from Javaid Nazir and Brothers against the default of a Rs 53 million loan they took from ABL.

The meeting approved filing of references against Rana Muzammal-ul-

Haq for misappropriation of public funds from Punjab Cooperation Board for

liquidation, another against Muhammad Saeed Khan DEN Pakistan Railways for corrupt practices andTaj Muhamamd Sarparah AFC/ Incharge PR Centre Saraib warehouses Quetta and others for taking away wheat from government warehouses illegally.

On a complaint against Gerry’s Travels by Hajj pilgrims for not providing them with promised services, it was decided that the Ministry of Religious Affairs will advise NAB on what course of action should be taken against such travel agencies.

It was decided that the ministry will secure financial arrangements with guarantees from tour operators in the future.
