Computerised land record of 22 villages maintained

ISLAMABAD: Data entry of 22 villages of Islamabad has been carried under the project of automation of land revenue record. Under the project, basic computer training programmes are being arranged for revenue officers. The progress of the project was reviewed at a high-level meeting chaired by Islamabad Chief Commissioner Tariq Mahmood Pirzada. Islamabad Deputy Commissioner Amer Ali Ahmed, ADC Farasat Ali Khan, Project Director Muhammad Arif Daar and other officials from the Ministry of Information and Technology attended the meeting. Islamabad Chief Commissioner Tariq Mahmood Pirzada stressed the importance of automation of land revenue record for achieving transparency and data maintenance. He also urged the officials to expedite the pace of work for timely completion of the project. The meeting was informed that data entry of 22 mouzas in Islamabad has so far been completed under the project. It was also informed that besides data entry, computer networking and basic computer training of patwaris has also been completed. The meeting decided to constitute a committee headed by the ADC Farasat Ali Khan, which would identify and remove the bottleneck and obstacles in the speedy completion of the project. The committee would also submit a comprehensive report within eight days for implementation. Islamabad Assistant Commissioner (Secretariat) Nauman Yousaf, Project Director Muhammad Arif Daar and Project Director Saara would be members of the committee. The meeting also discussed the proposal for preparing a model software for automation of land revenue of one village as a pilot project. The successful implementation of this project would pave way for automation and data entry of the remaining villages, which might be adopted and replicated in data entry of the remaining villages of Islamabad.
