Land record computerisation project reviewed

Islamabad: The land revenue record of the Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) will be computerised soon under the automation of land revenue record project for the rural areas of Islamabad.

Progress on the project was reviewed in a meeting chaired by Chief Commissioner Tariq Mahmood Pirzada. Deputy Commissioner Amer Ali Ahmed, ADC Farasat Ali Khan, Project Director Muhammad Arif Daar and officials of the Ministry of Information and Technology attended the meeting.

The chief commissioner ordered for automation of land revenue record for achieving transparency and data maintenance. Participants of the meeting were informed that so far data entry of 22 ‘mouzas’ in Islamabad and basic computer training of ‘patwaris’ has been completed.

The meeting also decided to constitute a committee headed by ADC Farasat Ali Khan, which would identify and remove bottlenecks in the project. The meeting also discussed the proposal for preparing a model software for automation of land revenue of one village as a pilot project.
