CDA to continue development projects despite financial crisis

ISLAMABAD: Capital Development Authority (CDA) will continue work on its development projects despite financial crisis being faced by the authority.

“In cooperation with business community, CDA will be able to continue work on development projects,” CDA Chairman Engineer Farkhand Butt said in a meeting with a delegation of Islamabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ICCI) led by its President Yassar Sakhi Butt here on Tuesday.

Butt said CDA would start landscaping at Constitution Avenue and would make capital more eye catching.

He said the CDA had plan to start CNG buses for public facilitation. “Development projects for Sector I-11, I-15 and I-16 would also be started very soon,” Sakhi said on the occasion that there was a dire need of support from CDA to boost business activities.

He said there was a need of streetlights and construction of roads in industrial area. He proposed CDA to form a reconciliation committee, which would be helpful in resolving various disputes.

ICCI Founder Group Chairman Munawar Mughal said markets had been operated under traditional mechanisms, which needed to be developed on modern lines.

He said up-gradation of markets and removing of all the encroachments should be the top priority of CDA.

“All future developmental projects should be executed in collaboration with the stakeholders particularly the traders,” he emphasised. app
