PHA completes 90pc work on FG employees schemes

ISLAMABAD (APP) - Pakistan Housing Authority (PHA) has completed 90 per cent work on its four schemes launched during last three years for the Federal Government employees.
These schemes were launched in 2008-9 as remaining work was in progress and would complete by March next year. These schemes were launched at G-10/2, G-11/3, Islamabad and Wafaqi Colony, Lahore, an official said on Sunday.
During the period, Federal Government Employees Housing Foundation (FGEHF) has launched no scheme, however, two projects are in pipeline, which are the proposed Housing Scheme at Bara Kahu, Zone-IV, Islamabad.
Planning work on launch of the scheme has been completed and submitted to Capital Development Authority (CDA) for No Objection Certificate (NoC).
The second scheme was storey apartments in Sector G-13, Islamabad as applications are invited from employees and general public and is still under process.
The official said total amount receipt from government employees against the allotment of D & E type apartments is Rs 874.15 million and total expenses against these projects are Rs 1,320.66 million. He said the difference in revenue and expenditure is due to the subsidy in sale price offered to government employees.
This loss is being covered by the profit obtained from the flats sold to general public.
Giving information, the official said FGEHF has so far collected an amount of around Rs.474 million under Membership Drive announced in August, 2009.
So far, about 20,000 FG employees have registered themselves with Housing Foundation. Money has not been used because no scheme could be launched by FGEHF as yet.
