LAHORE: The City District Government Lahore (CDGL) has allowed car wash service stations to reopen their services for the citizens on the condition that they first fix shutter gates and make proper arrangements for water drainage to avoid breeding of mosquitoes. This decision was announced on Friday, following repeated requests and a protest by the workers and owners of service stations. Service stations had been closed last week as a preventive measure against dengue. Orders had been issued regarding closure of all service stations under Section 144 in the city. The government allowed reopening of around 700 services on conditions that they be installed with shutters first. Service station owners and workers had protested against the government against closure of the stations and said that workers related to this field of work and their dependents were deprived of livelihood.
