Lahore—National Engineering Services Pakistan (Pvt) Limited (NESPAK) has worked on 3185 development projects in Pakistan and 36 in other countries with a cumulative cost of over Rs. 7500 billion (US $ 176 billion) since its establishment in 1973. “2808 projects have since been completed and work is in progress on 322 domestic and 55 foreign projects,” said Asad I. A. Khan, Managing Director NESPAK in a statement on Wednesday.

He said that by providing engineering services at these Projects, NESPAK earned a revenue of more than Rs. 36 billion over the years as well as substantial foreign exchange for the country.

He said, immediately after its establishment 38 years ago, NESPAK undertook the design and construction supervision of gigantic projects including the 36" diameter steel reinforced and concrete lined 5th Irrigation Tunnel at Tarbela Dam Project, Dera-Darya Khan Bridge Project on the Indus River and Port Qasim. Within a year, NESPAK also entered the international market and was awarded a large irrigation project in Nigeria (Africa) and this established its credentials for projects abroad.

He said, after successfully going through its formative growth and consolidation phases, NESPAK had successfully exported engineering services to 36 countries in Africa, Asia, Middle East, Arab countries and Far East Asia.

He said the advantage of NESPAK over many other national and international consulting firms was that it provided wide range of services in almost every field of engineering and economic development including water development resources, agriculture, industry, energy, transportation, communication, environment, water supply and sanitation, architecture, urban planning and oil and gas under one roof.
