LAHORE - The Punjab University (PU) has earned an enviable position in the Higher Education Commission (HEC) rankings by moving up from number six to four in 2009, Pakistan Today learned on Tuesday.
The university is imparting quality research training and higher education, which remains unprecedented in the institution’s 129-year history. Currently 36.5 percent of the total faculty of the university holds a PhD which means 255 PhDs out of a total 699 teachers.
PU results to be announced: The PU will declare its BA/BSc Annual Examination 2011 result on August 12. Around 153,690 candidates appeared in the exam. A prize distribution ceremony will also be held later in the PU New Campus Faisal Auditorium.
The PU has started booking gazettes in advance and around 100 copies will be sold on a first-come-first-served basis. Those interested in purchasing the gazette must deposit Rs 3,000 in the Habib Bank Limited Punjab University New Campus Branch in favour of the treasurer and receive a token from the BA/BSc examination assistant controller’s office by submitting the original receipt there. The gazette will be handed over to customers from the examinations assistant controller’s office (forms section) at 6am on the result day. The gazette will not be provided on cash payment.
