Karachi—A China based CNG bus manufacturing company has offered investment and credit financing in the Shaheed Benazir Bhutto CNG Bus Project. Mass Transit Cell of City Government Karachi had called the proposals for this project from domestic and international companies in which 14 companies have been qualified while other companies were also submitting their proposals.
The representative of Chinese company today met with the Director General of Karachi Mass Transit Cell Rasheed Mughal in Civic Center in the presence of the officers of Transport & Communication and E&IP Department.
The representative of Yutong company during the meeting gave a briefing about the production of CNG buses by Chinese company and there export to foreign countries. He said Yutong produces environment friendly buses with multi fuel system and rust proof bodies which would be helpful for Karachi
Meanwhile, the Administrator Karachi Fazlur Rehman has said that city government has almost completed the cleaning of storm water drains in city and now the citizens would not have any trouble due to rains during monsoon, however, cleaning exercise of all small and big drains in city will continue. During a visit of different towns he was accompanied by EDO Municipal Services Masood Alam, Works department officers and concerned town administrators.
On the visit of Banaras Chowk, Administrator Karachi directed to speed up development works of flyover and roads beneath and around the bridge so that this could be finished soon and the people residing in the suburban areas could be provided with better transportation facilities. He said city government will make this very important junction beautiful by constructing beautiful and well standard roads here. While inspecting the cleaning of Gujjar Nullah in Liaquatabad, Administrator Karachi directed concerned officials to carry on this work without delay. This drain passes through center of city and its overflow causes difficulties to residents of adjoining areas, therefore it must be cleaned continuously.
Administrator Fazlur Rehman also checked the cleaning work of Chakor Nullah in Shah Faisal Town and Awami Colony Nullah and Korangi Nullah during the visit of Landhi and Korangi Town .
The administration in these towns had worked well and they must carry on this routine so that the city could be made clean and green. Administrator Karachi also directed town administrators to make it sure that all the garbage from the town limits was dispatched to landfill site without delay.
