Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif has said that credit for launching Ashiana Housing Project for the low-income people goes to the PML-N which has realized the dream of the widows, orphans and the poor to have their own houses.

He stated this during his visit to the under-construction Ashiana scheme at Saroba Attari here on Monday.

The chief minister said that after Lahore, the scope of the scheme would be extended to the whole province under a phased programme. He said no compromise would be made over the standard of construction work and he would personally supervise the project for the poor and the common man.

Expressing satisfaction over the design and standard of the houses in the first Aashiyana scheme, he said the pace of construction should be further accelerated.

He said that it was the first time in the 63 years’ history of the country that such a modern housing project had been launched for the poor.

He said that basic amenities on a par with the housing societies of the elite would be available in the scheme.

Sasti Roti: Shahbaz Sharif has said that welfare of the masses is the mission of the government and provision of Sasti Roti to the poor is a noble task in the era of price hike.

He was talking to Sasti Roti Authority Chairman Hanif Abbasi, MNA, who called on him at the Chief Minister’s Secretariat here on Monday.
