LAHORE: Students of University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences (UVAS) celebrated their second annual funfair day on the last day of Spring Festival on Thursday.

At the occasion, Livestock and Dairy Development (L&DD) Secretary Jahanzeb Khan and veteran Veterinarian Dr Mashooq Ali Bhutto, inaugurated the funfair with UVAS Vice Chancellor Professor Dr Muhammad Nawaz in chair. This was a fabulous occasion with an overwhelming participation on the part of the students and teachers. The families of the teaching staff and students enjoyed the day with innovative games, music, stalls, dedications, traditional food stalls and much more.

The chief guest on the occasion, Jahanzeb Khan, said that such activities were important to develop creativity and innovation, personality development, interpersonal skills and to promote a cohesive student community. “I was pleased to see the outstanding stalls and artistic work done by the young veterinarian,” he said. He also congratulated the organisers and excellent work done by the art lovers.

The VC presented a shield of appreciation to Jahanzeb Khan and Mashooq Ali Bhutto to remind him of his visit to UVAS. Fifty stalls were set up by different disciplines of the university. The vice chancellor distributed certificates, cups and shields amongst the organisers of the stalls.
