RAWALPINDI: Punjab Teachers and Lecturers Association President Muhammad Ilyas Qureshi said the government also planned to set up a District Education Authority (DAE) to give control of all schools to the authority as a part of strategy to privatise all the schools and colleges. Ilyas said protest was right of the teachers and they would continue it peacefully. He said the annual fee of MA/MSc was Rs 2500 while in BS programme the fee for one semester was up to Rs 9,000. He questioned how the authorities claimed that the fee would not be increased? He said the BoGs would increase the fee structure to 500 percent, depriving the poor students of their basic right of education.
