ISLAMABAD: Federal police in past also failed to enhance security of prominent personalities due to which criminals and terrorists targeted parliamentarians, former attorney general Sardar Muhammad and three officials of armed forces.

According to sources, former information minister Sherry Rehman has submitted a bill in National Assembly to amend the blasphemy law due to which she could also become a target of terrorists. In last few weeks more than four protests against Sherry had held in capital but her security could not be enhanced.

They said federal police had been failed to provide the security to prime personalities. Former Attorney General Muhammad Sardar Khan was killed in Sector G-11/2 on February 3, 2010.

On October 27, 2009 the terrorists in the limits of industrial area police station targeted Brigadier Waqar. Waqar was resident of Sector I-9/1.

On October 6, 2003 Mulana Azam Tariq was also killed in federal capital near motorway tool plaza.

On September 2, 2009, former minister of religious affairs Hamid Saeed Kazmi was severely injured in an attack in the limits of Aabpara Police Station.

On April 30, 2010, a Chinese man was killed in a guesthouse in Sector F-8/4.

Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Tahir Alam said police was doing its best to decrease crime rate but reasons of crime were social rather than incompetence of police.
