KARACHI: The Anti-Encroachment Cell (AEC) on Wednesday recovered 25 acres of land in Gulshan Town from the land mafia and arrested five accused carrying illegal weapons.
Deputy District Officer (Revenue) Shaukat Jhokio said that Mukhtiarkar of Gulshan Town Muhammad Ishaq lodged an FIR No 36/10 against the land mafia for illegally occupying 25 acres at Gulistan-e-Jauhar Dubai House.
He further said that on the complaint of the said person an AEC team conducted a raid and recovered 25 acres government land from the possession of the land mafia. Five associates of the land mafia group namely Iqbal Gaang, Allah Dino, Irshad Ali, Mohammad Dawood and Dost Mohammed have been arrested.
He also claimed to have recovered illegal weapons - two repeaters, one TT pistol and one 125 motorcycle from their custody while further investigation is underway.
