LAHORE: A business delegation from Australia visited the office of Punjab Board of Investment & Trade (PBIT) to explore areas of mutual interest for enhancing trade and investment between two regions.
According to handout issued here on Tuesday, Amanda Fazio, President of Legislative Council of New South Wales (NSW), headed these 10 members delegation.
Chief Executive Officer PBIT Saadat Muzaffar welcomed the members of Australian Delegation and equipped them with the knowledge of investment and trade opportunities in key sectors including Agriculture, Livestock, Mines & Minerals, Education (Technical & Vocational Training) and Energy. A number of investment projects were also introduced to the delegation.
Saadat Muzaffar also facilitated the delegation with the knowledge of key areas mutually beneficial to both countries including livestock trade with slaughterhouses being set up under partnerships, exchange programs for academia and researchers, and trade in Textiles, Fresh Fruits and Livestock sectors.
Leader of the delegation Amanda Fazio told that another business delegation will visit Lahore in February next year to promote joint ventures between private sector of both countries. Points of cooperation including Transfer of experts to build technical capacity, Investing in education sector and Potential joint ventures in Agriculture sector were also discussed during the meeting.
