LAHORE: A Chilean courts declared Pakistani student Saifur Rehman as innocent against charges of terrorism and ordered his release, a private TV channel reported on Tuesday. Saifur Rehman was accused of entering the US embassy in Chile with traces of explosives on his clothes. Santiago Fourth Court Judge Jorge Norambuena rejected the charges of terrorism and said that the charges were lies. Norambuena also said the allegations on Saifur Rehman were not in sync with article 248 of the Chilean code of criminal procedure. The government also failed to present concrete proofs against the accused, the channel said. “I was mentally disturbed since the past seven months and the Chilean government should apologise for wrong charges,” Saifur Rehman said.
