KARACHI (October 25, 2010) : The new Zilhij moon will be sighted on 7th November (Sunday), according to astronomical parameters. Therefore, Zilhij One, 1431 AH should fall on 8th November (Monday). The moon will cross the conjunction line on 6th November (Saturday) at 0952 Pakistan Standard Time (PST). The sunset on that day will be at 1749 PST, and the evening civil twilight (ECTL) will be at 1813 PST.

The moon will set at 1841 PST. Thus the age of the new moon will be 32 hours and 21 minutes at ECTL. It will set 52 minutes after sunset and 28 minutes after ECTL.

At ECTL the moon will be at an altitude of five degrees and 19 minutes. It will be at an azimuth of 241 degrees and 14 minutes. At sunset the moon will be at an altitude of nine degrees and 49 minutes. It will be at an azimuth of 238 degrees and 30 minutes.

According to astronomical parameters, there is a very good chance of sighting the Zilhij moon on 7th November.
