LAHORE: Mansoor Aziz Khan advocate on Friday moved a contempt petition before the Lahore Registry of the Supreme Court against three Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) leaders for making contemptuous remarks against the judiciary.

The petitioner alleged that PPP Information Secretary Fauzia Wahab, Federal Law Minister Babar Awan and Senator Faisal Raza Abidi, in their television interviews, maligned the judiciary. He said the PPP leaders had deliberately launched a vilification campaign against the judiciary.

The petitioner stated that these persons were openly criticising court judgements by terming them political orders and recently Babar had vilified judges at a press conference. He said Abidi and Fauzia had also made derogatory remarks against the judiciary.
