Chinese entrepreneurs urged to invest in housing sector
RECORDER REPORT
ISLAMABAD (September 25 2008): The federal government is taking concrete steps to provide housing to every citizen in the country under the Prime Minister's Housing Scheme, said Federal Housing and Work Minister Rehmatullah Kakar here on Wednesday. The minister called upon Chinese investors and companies to take the opportunity to invest in the construction industry in Pakistan.

Talking to Chinese Ambassador to Pakistan Lu Zhao Hui, he said that Chinese companies have vast experience in the construction industry and Pakistan can learn a lot from their expertise to their the mutual advantage. They discussed matters pertaining to promoting bilateral co-operation in the housing sector.

The minister said that Pak-China friendship was time-tested and everlasting and bilateral co-operation in diversified fields between two friendly countries was expanding with passage of time.

He said that China has played a very significant role in socio-economic development of Pakistan and hoped that co-operation between the two countries would further increase in various sectors, including housing. The minister also briefed the Chinese ambassador about the development activities in the housing sector. He also invited the Chinese companies to take part in construction of one million houses for the poor and needy and shelterless government servants and general public.

The Chinese envoy on the occasion said that China attached high importance to its deep rooted and friendly relations with Pakistan and adding that co-operation between the two countries would further grow and flourish in days ahead. He assured that Chinese constructions companies would participate in the upcoming mega housing projects of Pakistan.
